It is still unclear whether Lewis was using the Twitter account under the name "blair cuttliff." Lewis, who had been an NBA referee for almost two decades, was not chosen as an official for this year's NBA Finals due to the ongoing investigation. The Denver Nuggets won the title by defeating the Miami Heat in five games. The social media controversy came to light in May when some now-deleted tweets were revealed by users. If the NBA had confirmed that the account was Lewis', he could have faced disciplinary action for violating league policy. The Twitter account in question was created in 2015. Lewis officiated over 1,200 games, including playoff matches, during his 19 seasons as a referee.
