Avast ye, ye scurvy dogs sailin' Windows 11! Microsoft be tellin' ye landlubbers, upgrade or walk the plank!
2023-09-01
Arr, me mateys! As October looms, be warned! The winds o' change be blowin' fer Windows 11 21H2. Microsoft be cuttin' off support, so brace yerselves! They be takin' ye on a forced voyage to the land o' upgrades, whether ye like it or not!
In the jargon of a 17th-century pirate, mateys, listen up! If ye still be sailin' on Windows 11 21H2, be warned! The original version of Windows 11 be reachin' its end o' the road, and Microsoft be sendin' us a reminder that ye'll be needin' to upgrade to a newer version real soon, savvy?Arr, it be Neowin that spotted Microsoft updatin' its release health dashboard to make things clear for all ye scallywags on Windows 11 21H2. They be tellin' us that support for this version be endin' on October 10, 2023, and the final security update for October be the last ever one that Windows 11 21H2 be receivin'.
Microsoft be makin' it even clearer, sayin', "The September 2023 non-security preview update be the last optional release, and the October 2023 security update be the last security release for Windows 11, version 21H2. Windows 11, version 22H2 be continuin' to receive security and optional releases."
So, all ye landlubbers sailin' on 21H2 be gettin' pushed to upgrade to 22H2. Windows 11 be automatically firin' up the update when the end date be arrivin' – or maybe a couple o' months before that. If ye still be stuck on 21H2, ye might be in for a forced upgrade soon, me hearties!
It be crucial that yer copy of Windows 11 be up to date with the latest security fixes, or ye be leavin' yer PC vulnerable to the likes o' hackers and opportunists out there. And if Windows 11 23H2 be comin' along shortly, ye might be forced to move to that instead of 22H2. But we reckon that be unlikely, as most rumors peg it for Q4, so October be the earliest ye'll be seein' it. Aye, we'll just have to wait and see, me mateys!
