Arr, me hearties! The Alienware AW2524HF be keepin' the ol' ship's excellent performance, but alas! Dell hath seen fit to trim a few o' her features. Avast ye, ye scallywags!
Dell has released its new Alienware AW2524HF, a cheaper version of its high-end AW2524H display. While it shares many similarities with the older model, it also has some unique features of its own. The AW2524HF boasts a 24.5-inch Full HD resolution IPS panel with a refresh rate of 480Hz, which can be increased to 500Hz. The display uses in-panel switching technology, offering wide-viewing angles and accurate color reproduction. It also has a lightning-fast response time of 0.5ms and includes features like a retractable headset hanger and Low Blue Light technology for eye protection. However, there are some differences between the AW2524HF and its pricier counterpart. The AW2524HF lacks AlienFX RGB lighting on the back and does not have VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification like the AW2524H. It also supports AMD FreeSync Premium and is VESA AdaptiveSync certified, while the AW2524H is G-SYNC certified. Additionally, the AW2524HF has an extra DisplayPort 1.4 input instead of an HDMI port.
The Alienware AW2524HF is currently available in the United States for $649.99, cheaper than the previous model. It is unclear if Dell plans to launch the monitor in other countries. It is recommended to have a good gaming rig to fully utilize the display. TechRadar also provides a list of the best gaming PCs for 2023.
