Arrr, me hearties! Aye, there be grim tidings for MacBook enthusiasts with this Apple leak, but fear not, for a new iMac be on the horizon, mateys!

2023-09-11

Avast ye, me hearties! Sailin' the seas of technology news, I be tellin' ye this: hold yer horses! No new M3 MacBooks be comin' yer way anytime soon after the grand launch o' the iPhone 15. Batten down the hatches and wait upon the winds o' progress, me mateys!

In a disappointing turn of events, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed that there will be no new MacBook models equipped with the M3 series processors before the end of this year. This contradicts earlier leaks that suggested Apple could hold an event in October to showcase new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, as well as a new iMac powered by the rumored M3 chip.
While this news may be disheartening for MacBook enthusiasts, there is still hope for other Mac devices to make an appearance in 2023. Speculation suggests that a new 24-inch iMac, which hasn't been updated since the M1 24-inch iMac in 2021, could be a likely candidate. Additionally, a larger iMac running on Apple's own chips could also be a possibility.
However, considering that iMacs are a niche product, Apple may choose not to update them at all. If they do release new iMacs, it would make more sense for them to be powered by the M2 chip rather than the M3. It also makes sense for Apple to hold off on the M3 chip until 2024, allowing their current M2-powered devices, such as the 15-inch MacBook Air and the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, to shine without quickly becoming outdated.
Although the delay is disappointing, it provides Apple's engineers with more time to develop something truly special with the M3 chip. Ultimately, this delay may be worth the wait for customers who have recently invested in the M2-powered devices.
For now, fans will have to wait and see what surprises Apple has in store for the upcoming September event and hope for more exciting Mac-related announcements in the future.
