Arrr, methinks the 'Chromebook Plus' be the future o' Google-powered laptops! Lenovo, by Davy Jones, agrees!

Arr, me hearties, the mighty Google be sailin' forth with its grand Chromebook Plus scheme, whilst a shiny new Lenovo IdeaPad laptop be spied upon the vast online seas. Yo ho ho, technology be a'brewin'!

Speculation has been circulating about a new breed of Chromebooks, originally referred to as 'Chromebook X', and it has now been confirmed that Google plans to use the moniker 'Chromebook Plus' for these new machines. In fact, you might already have one. A laptop believed to be part of this new Plus generation of Chromebooks, the 14-inch Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i Chromebook Plus, has been spotted. However, this is just the working title, as the name was pulled from Google's Omaha server. Acer, Asus, and HP were previously revealed to have Chromebook Plus models in the works, and now Lenovo has been added to the lineup.

The Plus specification doesn't offer anything too exciting at the moment. It simply signals Google's intention to separate its more premium ChromeOS laptops from the rest, with new minimum requirements for system performance and hardware quality. Many of the best Chromebooks may already fall into this category, especially more expensive models like the HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook.

The IdeaPad Flex 5i Chromebook Plus, with its cumbersome name, is not expected to be significantly different from the existing IdeaPad Flex 5i Chromebook. This suggests that Chromebook Plus may be more about software capabilities than hardware design requirements.

Overall, the Plus brand may not blow us away initially, but with support and investment from Google, this new faction of Chromebooks could flourish.
