Avast ye! Jets' Aaron Rodgers be struck by a cursed torn Achilles! His season be naught but a memory, says the scuttlebutt, arrr!

2023-09-12

Avast ye scurvy dogs! I be havin' woeful tidings to share. The gallant Aaron Rodgers, a star o' the New York Jets, shall be out o' action for the rest o' the 2023 season! Aye, his Achilles hath been torn asunder durin' a fierce battle with the Buffalo Bills on this fine Monday eve.

All the hope, hype, and good spirits that were present at the beginning of the 2023 regular season for the New York Jets quickly vanished from MetLife Stadium within a mere 10 minutes. The infamous Aaron Rodgers, quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, suffered a devastating season-ending torn Achilles after being sacked on the fourth play of the Jets' season. Leonard Floyd, a linebacker for the Buffalo Bills, was responsible for this unfortunate event. Rodgers was unable to walk it off and had to be helped off the field and evaluated. Jets head coach, Robert Saleh, expressed his belief that Rodgers had indeed suffered an Achilles injury, and this was later confirmed by an MRI.

The Jets took to social media, expressing their disappointment and wishing Rodgers a speedy recovery. Despite this setback, the Jets managed to defeat the Bills 22-16 in overtime with Zach Wilson as their starting quarterback moving forward. The injury to Rodgers was disheartening, with tennis legend John McEnroe describing it as "depressing."

Rodgers had arrived in New Jersey ready to work and meet the high expectations placed upon him and the Super Bowl roster that the Jets had assembled around him. His football skills left the entire team in awe, as depicted in HBO's "Hard Knocks." However, the unpredictable nature of football took its toll, and Rodgers was only able to participate in four plays this season, which saddened Saleh.

Saleh's heart was with Rodgers during this difficult time, and he expressed his sympathy for the quarterback, stating that his hurt was solely for Aaron and no one else. Unfortunately, in football, nothing is guaranteed, especially when it comes to health.
