Avast, me hearties! The skipper of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Matt Rhule, be claimin' that their gatherin' at the heart o' the field ere playin' Colorado be no act o' dishonor. Aye, methinks the lad be jestin'!

Nebraska Cornhuskers head coach Matt Rhule responded to Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders' comments about Nebraska players congregating at midfield before their game. Rhule stated that they pray for blessings at every stadium they visit and even invited Sanders to pray with them. Sanders had taken offense to the Nebraska team meeting on the Buffaloes' logo at the 50-yard line, calling it extreme disrespect. He mentioned that the Buffaloes meant a lot to him personally and that he found the coach's comments about his father and the program disrespectful. Sanders also claimed that the respect level for their defensive coordinator was not there because he disrespected them first.

Rhule, on the other hand, disputed the claim of being disrespectful and mentioned that he made sure to shake head coach Deion Sanders' hand after the game. He emphasized that no one could tell him who he is and that he knows exactly who he is as a coach. Rhule stated that he coaches his team with class and would never disrespect an opponent. Despite being 0-2 at Nebraska, Rhule remains confident in his coaching abilities.

The Cornhuskers will be playing their home opener in Week 3 against Northern Illinois.
