High-speed internet is extremely important to most people nowadays, as it has become a necessity rather than just a luxury. It allows us to work from home, use our smartphones for various tasks, and stream our favorite shows without any hassle or delay. However, getting high-speed internet can be quite expensive.Fortunately, there is a government-sponsored program called the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) that provides monthly subsidies of up to $30, and sometimes up to $75, to help eligible households pay for internet service. The program also offers a one-time discount of up to $100 for purchasing a device from participating providers.
Major carriers like AT&T and Verizon are participating in the program and are required to provide internet speeds of at least 100 Mbps, which is sufficient for a family of four. Since its inception two years ago, the ACP has helped over 20 million American households access the internet.
To be eligible for the ACP, individuals must meet certain criteria, and if eligible, they may also receive money towards purchasing a new device. Interested individuals can contact one of the participating providers to learn more about receiving these benefits.
Those who qualify can visit the White House's dedicated webpage to sign up for the ACP. The page provides instructions on how to sign up and a list of participating providers. The ACP is limited to one device discount per household and one monthly service discount.
Thanks to the support of American taxpayers and a spending spree by the White House, less-fortunate families now have access to affordable home internet. If you think American taxpayers should contribute more to provide high-speed internet to those in need, you can share your opinion by contacting Cyberguy.com.
