Arrr, me hearties! Avast ye! The long-awaited day be upon us! The grand debut o' AMD FSR3 be happenin' on the morrow, a whole year after its first proclamation. 'Tis a wait fit for a pirate's treasure!
AMD Radeon users with RX 7000-series cards are in for a treat as AMD is set to debut its FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 (FSR 3) technology. FSR 3 is similar to Nvidia’s DLSS 3 upscaling tech, as AMD works to catch up to Nvidia's level. The core addition of FSR 3 is Fluid Motion Frames, which generates new frames and inserts them between existing rendered frames to improve overall framerate. The release date of FSR 3 has been a mystery until now, but Frank Azor, Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions and marketing for AMD, confirmed the big release date in a tweet. However, specific games that will support FSR 3 at launch have not been specified, but reports suggest that Forspoken and Immortals of Avenum will be among the first titles to host the tech. FSR 3 will be compatible with Radeon RX 5700/RTX 20 series and newer GPUs, and the Fluid Motion Frames feature will be open-source, allowing adaptation to other GPU platforms in the future.AMD's investment in catching up with Nvidia's frame-gen technology is exciting, and it will be interesting to see how FSR 3 performs in comparison to DLSS 3. Unlike DLSS, FSR can work with any graphics card because it's open-source. While DLSS currently supports more games than FSR, the Fluid Motion Frames feature has the potential to work with most modern games at the driver level. The launch of FSR 3 is eagerly anticipated, and users are excited to see what AMD has to offer and test out the technology for themselves.
