Avast, ye scurvy dogs! The Los Angeles Chargers be sendin' their trusty center Corey Linsley to the injured reserve, for he be havin' a non-emergent heart matter. Aye, he already be ruled out for Sunday's clash, so we be prayin' for his swift recovery!

The Los Angeles Chargers' offense has suffered a blow with the news that All-Pro center Corey Linsley will be placed on the injured reserve due to a non-emergent heart issue. Linsley, who has been with the Chargers for his 10th NFL season, had played and started in the first three games. However, he remains in good spirits and will continue to consult with doctors for further information. Unfortunately, the Chargers missed the deadline to officially place Linsley on injured reserve, but he had already been ruled out for the upcoming game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

In Linsley's absence, Will Clapp is expected to take over as the starting center for at least the next four games. Linsley, a 32-year-old native of Youngstown, Ohio, previously played for the Green Bay Packers for seven seasons before joining the Chargers in 2021. He was a First-Team All-Pro member in 2020 and earned his first Pro Bowl selection with the Chargers this year.

Clapp's primary responsibility will be protecting quarterback Justin Herbert, who has seen improvements in his sack numbers. After being sacked 32 times in his rookie season, Herbert experienced 31 sacks in 2021. However, in 2022, he faced 38 sacks. This year, he has already been sacked seven times.

Without Linsley anchoring the offensive line, the Chargers face a challenging situation. Although they secured their first win of the season against the Minnesota Vikings, the road ahead becomes tougher without their All-Pro center.
