Arr, the scallywag Arterio Morris o' the Kansas Jayhawks hath been given the heave-ho from the crew! Charged wit' the dastardly crime o' rape, he be! Aye, 'twas an incident o' August what led to this unfortunate fate. Walk the plank, he shall!

Kansas Jayhawks guard Arterio Morris has been dismissed from the men's basketball program after being charged with one count of rape. The incident took place in McCarthy Hall, which is located near Allen Fieldhouse and houses the basketball team. Morris was arrested and booked in Douglas County, with his bond set at $75,000. The criminal complaint alleges that the sexual assault involving an 18-year-old victim occurred on August 26. Although Morris wasn't named in the initial report, he was suspended from the program. Kansas coach Bill Self stated that Morris has been dismissed from the team due to the charges, and as it is an ongoing legal matter, further comments cannot be made at this time. No attorney is listed for Morris, and he does not have a publicly listed phone number.

Morris transferred to Kansas while facing a misdemeanor assault charge in Texas. During his freshman season at the University of Texas, Frisco Police were called to his ex-girlfriend's house, where she reported that he had grabbed her arm and caused an injury to her neck. He was scheduled to appear at a jury trial for that case, but it was canceled when he pleaded no contest to a Class C charge and was ordered to pay a fine. The Kansas Jayhawks' basketball season is set to begin on November 6 against North Carolina Central.
