Arr, matey! Adobe's latest photo editor be more powerful than Google's Magic Editor, me eyes can't believe it!

Arr, ye scurvy dogs! Behold Adobe's grand reveal: Project Stardust! It be a magical contraption that banishes unwanted objects from images, replacin' 'em with the sorcery of AI content. Aye, 'tis a fine treasure indeed!
Adobe MAX 2023 is just around the corner, and the company has released a video teasing its new "object-aware editing engine" called Project Stardust. This feature can identify objects in a photograph and separate them into their own layers, allowing users to move or delete them. The software also understands the difference between main subjects and background objects that users want to remove. What's interesting is that removing or moving objects doesn't leave behind a hole, as the empty space is filled by a generative AI model. Adobe showcases this by erasing a suitcase held by a model and replacing it with a bouquet of flowers in her hand. The technology can also be used to change clothing articles by highlighting the piece of clothing and entering the desired replacement text.
Functionally, Project Stardust operates similarly to Google's Magic Editor, but Stardust feels more capable. While the Pixel 8 Pro's Magic Eraser can fill gaps, it can't generate content like Stardust. Additionally, Adobe's software doesn't require manual input like Google's version.
There are some errors in Stardust, such as random holes in the leather jacket and strange warping around the model's hands. However, it's possible that these are early-stage issues. More details about Stardust, such as whether it's a standalone app or integrated into Photoshop, will be revealed at Adobe MAX 2023.
Adobe will also be showcasing other AI features coming to Firefly, Creative Cloud, Express, and more. For those interested in learning Photoshop, TechRadar has a list of the best online Photoshop courses for 2023.
