Avast ye! 'Tis been unveiled on the electronic parchment o' the constabulary that ol' matey Sergio Brown, a former ruffian of the NFL, was placed under lock 'n key for a most egregious scallywag act, a felony, but a day prior! Arrr!
Former NFL player Sergio Brown, 35, was taken into custody by the San Diego Sheriff’s Department on a felony fugitive arrest charge. This comes nearly a month after his mother’s body was found near a creek in Illinois and he was reported missing. Details surrounding his arrest are not known at this time. Brown's mother, Myrtle Brown, 73, was found dead near her home in Maywood, Illinois, on September 16. Family members had reported both Brown and his mother missing. In videos on social media, Brown dismissed reports about his mother's death as "fake news" and accused the FBI and Maywood police of kidnapping him. The Maywood police spokesperson confirmed that they were aware of the videos and investigating. Last week, it was reported that Brown was seen in a video partying in Mexico. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Myrtle Brown's death a homicide, stating that she was injured during an assault. Brown, who signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2010, played with several teams during his seven-year career, including the Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Buffalo Bills. He last played in the league in 2016. It is unclear at this time what charges Brown will face and what the future holds for the former NFL player.
