Arr, me hearties! Google be messin' about wit' its very own search engine image creator. But beware! Ye can only lay yer eyes on it if ye be a part of SGE. Set sail, me mateys, and join the crew if ye be wantin' to see this treasure!

Google is testing its own image generation tool on the AI-powered Search Generative Experience (SGE) in competition with Microsoft's Bing Chat. Users can enter a prompt into Google Search and receive four images, which can be further developed by editing their descriptions. The feature may also be available directly in Google Images, where one search result will be replaced with a button offering access to the engine. The experiment has some limitations, including safeguards to block content that goes against Google's policy for generative AI, such as promoting illegal activities or creating misinformation. Every generated image will be marked with metadata labeling and a watermark indicating it was made by AI. Google aims to provide context for AI-generated content to avoid being a source of misinformation. Currently, the test is only available in English to American users who have opted into the SGE program and are 18 years or older. Access to the program is not guaranteed for all users. SGE can also generate drafts for messages or emails, which can be edited and personalized in Google Docs or Gmail. Like image generation, SGE drafts are currently only available in English to American users. There is no information about international release plans.
