Avast ye, ye Apple lovers! Methinks we won't lay eyes on an OLED MacBook Pro 'til 2026! Begad!

2023-10-13

Arrr, me hearties! Word be goin' around that the chances o' layin' yer hands on an OLED MacBook Pro afore 2026 be as slim as a plank in Davy Jones' locker! It be naught but a pipe dream, ye scurvy dogs!

Arrr, mateys! Avast ye! Another report be throwin' a wrench at our expectations for an OLED MacBook Pro from Apple. It be lookin' like Samsung will be startin' mass production of 8th-generation OLED screens in the first half of 2026, according to UBI Research. They be investin' in this technology for laptops, tablets, and monitors, but Apple still be havin' the final say on when they will release an OLED MacBook Pro.
In 2021, Samsung be talkin' with Apple about developin' the OLED screen for their MacBooks, but it be gettin' delayed over and over again. Now, after a hefty $3.1 billion investment, Samsung be plannin' on producin' the OLED MacBook Pro. However, even if they can deliver by early 2026, Apple may still wait until the second half of 2026 or even 2027 to release it, accordin' to The Elec.
Other companies like LG Display and BOE be plannin' on developin' 8th-generation OLED screens as well, but they still be needin' to secure funds and customers first. It be lookin' like there be some competition in the works.
But alas, there be more bad news for Apple fans. Declinin' sales may be a factor in the OLED MacBook Pro's fate. Apple's revenue be goin' down, and the costs of the new OLED panels be a concern since they require larger substrates that Samsung and LG haven't developed yet. The Korean companies be unsure how much Apple will be willin' to pay for these panels. So, until Apple be makin' an official announcement, we shouldn't be gettin' our hopes up too high. We might be seein' an OLED MacBook Air before we see the Pro.
So, me hearties, it be lookin' like we may have to wait a bit longer for that shiny OLED MacBook Pro. Until then, keep your eyes on the horizon and your spirits high!
