Avast! Word be spreadin' that King Charles III be takin' away Prince Harry and fair Meghan Markle's guardin' crew on British shores, hopin' to lure 'em back to the royal embrace. Arrr, what a scandalous tale!

According to a report by Byline Times, King Charles III of the U.K. removed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's personal security in an attempt to control them. The source claims that the royal family wanted to reduce the threat of the Sussexes overshadowing the rest of the family. Byline Times also alleges that the royal family tried various tactics to make Harry and Meghan's departure fail, including signing off on a 12-month assault by the U.K. press on the couple. Buckingham Palace and Archewell have not responded to requests for comment.

Kinsey Schofield, host of the "To Di For Daily" podcast, believes that Harry and Meghan had already planned to leave the royal family regardless. She suggests that the royals felt blindsided by their decision and distanced themselves from the couple to protect themselves. Schofield also points out that Harry and Meghan had already begun making plans and taking meetings without consulting the royal family.

The Byline Times source explains that King Charles saw the removal of security funding as a way to bring Harry and Meghan under control, but it ultimately did not work. Prince Harry went to court this year to argue for the necessity of security for his family, even offering to personally pay for it. However, the court ruled against him, stating that it was not appropriate to use police officers as private bodyguards for the wealthy.

British royals expert Hilary Fordwich suggests that the issue of security is partly a financial one. While the public supports Harry and Meghan seeking a new life away from the monarchy, they do not want taxpayers to bear the expense. Fordwich believes that the king had to consider public sentiment and the survival of the monarchy when cutting security funding for the Sussexes.
