Arr! Thar be Newsom o' California, revealin' who truly captures his heart, 'n it be a surprise, matey!

2023-11-16

Arrr, mateys! Gov. Newsom, the scallywag, confessed this week that he swabbed the decks of San Francisco 'cause fancy-pants global leaders be visitin'! Aye, this be but a single instance of where his loyalties lie. Arrr!

When California Governor Gavin Newsom admitted that clean-up efforts in San Francisco were a result of "fancy leaders coming into town," he revealed his true priorities. It seems that his policy goals align more with Chinese President Xi Jinping than with the well-being of Californians or the United States as a whole. This is just one example of how left-wing politicians, starting with the Biden administration, are inadvertently helping China in its quest for global dominance while stifling American innovation.

One area where this is evident is the tech sector. The Biden administration has launched lawsuits against Google and Amazon, two American success stories, and Newsom has signed legislation targeting both companies. If successful, these actions could lead to the break-up of these companies. Meanwhile, the Chinese tech industry is booming, with Chinese-based apps like TikTok and Temu gaining popularity in the United States. Despite concerns over slave labor and human rights abuses in China, these Chinese apps continue to thrive.

Another example is the energy sector. Biden and Newsom have shown their disdain for American oil and gas, favoring green initiatives instead. However, the production of electric vehicles (EVs) requires minerals like lithium-ion and cobalt, which China dominates. China produces 75% of the world's lithium-ion batteries and controls much of the cobalt market through its influence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The recent meeting between Biden and Xi Jinping may not have immediate policy consequences, but it highlights the growing influence and ambitions of China. It is concerning that our elected officials are inadvertently making it easier for China to achieve its objectives. While this does not necessarily mean that they are purposefully undermining American interests, their policies are undoubtedly having that effect.

In the end, it is frustrating that it took a visit from Xi for Newsom to take action and clean up San Francisco. But the real anger should be directed at the liberal policy agendas that are putting American innovators at a disadvantage and benefiting their Chinese competitors. The long-term implications of these policies for American citizens should not be overlooked.
