Arrr! Avast ye scurvy dogs! 'Tis a tale of a young American scallywag, who, by some twist o' fate, found himself kidnapped by the likes of Hamas, along with 14 Israeli buccaneers and three other foreign prisoners! Yet fear not, for they be set free on a fine Sunday, after almost three moon cycles in captivity!
In a surprising turn of events, a 4-year-old American girl named Abigail Edan was among the 17 hostages released by Hamas on Sunday. This little girl, who holds both Israeli and American citizenship, had been taken hostage by the terrorist group after they brutally murdered her parents right in front of her.The Red Cross has taken custody of the 17 hostages, 14 of whom are Israeli citizens and 3 are foreigners, according to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). The Israeli government expressed their joy and relief at the return of these hostages, stating that their families had already been informed about their safe return.
The IDF and ISA forces are accompanying 12 of the released hostages to Hatzerim Base in Israel, while the remaining 4 are on their way to the Rafah Crossing. One hostage has been airlifted directly to an Israeli hospital for medical attention.
It is worth noting that this is the third group of hostages that Hamas has released as part of a cease-fire agreement with Israel. The war between Hamas and Israel was sparked by a rampage in southern Israel, during which Hamas militants seized around 240 people. Among the 17 hostages released on Sunday, 9 are children, including Abigail Edan. The other hostages include a 40-year-old woman, two older men, and a 25-year-old dual Russian Israeli citizen.
Hamas claimed that they released one of the Russian hostages as a gesture of appreciation for Russian President Vladimir Putin's efforts and stance during the war.
This story has garnered global attention and the release of these hostages is seen as a positive step towards peace in the region.
