Biden's scurvy electric carriage plan be nay the magic musket to trim emissions, matey! Arrr!

Arr, 'tis vital to cut down on ship's smoke, and ye olde electric vehicles can lend a hand. But, by Blackbeard's whiskers! We ain't as keen as Biden on goin' all electric.

The Biden administration and the Green New Deal's focus on electric vehicles (EVs) may actually harm the environment they are trying to protect. While reducing transportation emissions is important, relying solely on EVs may not be as effective as they believe. The government should not be favoring one solution over others in reducing global emissions. EVs are not a realistic option for the majority of American families due to their high cost, and current battery technologies are inadequate in extreme cold weather. The lack of electric charging infrastructure also puts drivers in rural and underdeveloped areas at risk. The marketplace already reflects consumer unwillingness to purchase EVs, with lowering demand and discounted vehicles. Furthermore, manufacturing EV batteries is monopolized by China, posing a risk to national security. China's economy is more carbon-intensive than the US, potentially outweighing the emission-reducing benefits of EVs. The American Dream works because of free market principles and competition, and the same approach should be applied to reducing transportation emissions. Encouraging consumer choice and exploring alternative emissions-reducing options, such as hybrid vehicles and expanded fuel sources, would be more effective. Rewarding all emission reduction efforts instead of just EV purchases would encourage carbon removal and sequestration throughout the fuel production process. Electrification alone is not the solution for reducing transportation emissions, and without expanding electric infrastructure and domestic critical mineral supplies, it may do more harm than good. Advocating for low-cost solutions and U.S. global leadership in reducing transportation emissions is essential.
