Arrr, me hearties! Ye be knowin' that the Black Lives Matter protests and the DEI bureaucracy be playin' a part in university antisemitism. But lo and behold, the scandal be gettin' even worse, as ye scurvy college presidents come forward with their tales!
Outrage is growing among university donors, corporate leaders, and the public over the support shown by faculty and students on U.S. college campuses for the Hamas atrocities against Israeli civilians. The outcry intensified after the presidents of three top American universities offered equivocation and double standards when questioned about antisemitism on campus. As a result, the president of the University of Pennsylvania was forced to resign. Many expressing their indignation, including self-proclaimed liberals and progressives, are now witnessing the consequences of racially divisive rules and rhetoric that have been allowed to flourish. The rise in antisemitism has been facilitated by the racially charged Black Lives Matter protests, the "diversity, equity, and inclusion" bureaucracy, and leaders who condone violence when committed by the so-called oppressed. Wealthy donors are now threatening to withdraw support for universities that do not actively combat antisemitism, with some vowing never to hire students who signed open letters condemning Israel after the Hamas attack. Even liberal Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer is condemning leftist protestors who support Hamas. However, it begs the question of where these same people were when tolerance and decency were diminishing on college campuses and in society in previous years. Many remained silent in the face of racial segregation, the silencing of conservative speakers, and antisemitic student groups. This complicity has helped radicalize a generation that justifies violence in the name of social justice. The involvement of Wall Street financiers, law firms, and others in condemning antisemitism is crucial in returning America to the right course and renouncing grievance and identity politics. The hope is that this awakening will lead to lasting resistance against hate in all its forms.
