Two men in western Pennsylvania are facing charges after being accused of racing on a public highway, resulting in a crash that killed a teenage girl. The incident occurred on September 20 in Dravosburg when a sedan struck a school van that was attempting to make a left turn. The collision caused the van to flip over, ejecting three of the four students inside, including the 15-year-old victim. The van driver and another adult were also critically injured.

William Soliday II, the driver of the sedan, has been charged with criminal homicide, vehicular homicide, and multiple counts of aggravated assault and reckless endangering. Andrew Voigt, whose vehicle entered the intersection shortly after the crash, is charged with accidents involving death or injury and reckless endangering. Both men, who worked near each other, are also charged with racing on highways.

According to investigators, the first car was traveling at over 100 mph just before the crash, with the second vehicle following closely behind. Authorities believe the two drivers were racing and turned their vehicles "into a deadly weapon."

Soliday's attorney claims his client sustained head trauma and has no memory of the crash, emphasizing that it was an accident with no malicious intent. Voigt's attorney highlights how many people pass by accidents without stopping.

The tragic incident has left the community shocked and saddened. The loss of a young life and the injuries sustained by others serve as a reminder of the dangers of reckless driving. The legal process will determine the culpability of the accused men, but their actions have had devastating consequences.
