A group of recently released hostages and their relatives met with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and war cabinet minister Benny Gantz Saturday evening. According to The Times of Israel, one of the freed hostages expressed their fear of the captors and the lasting trauma they have experienced. The individual claimed that the captors would use the hostages if they felt threatened and even warned the Israeli soldiers about the dangers of going into the tunnels. The comments come after Hamas militants stormed into southern Israel, killing many and capturing numerous hostages. Israel's offensive has resulted in a high number of Palestinian casualties, although Israel disputes the figures provided by the Hamas-run Health Ministry. Hamas has released over 100 hostages in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners, but they have stated that no more hostages will be released until the war concludes. It is believed that Hamas has constructed a vast underground system beneath civilian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.
