Avast me hearties! Biden be wantin' Republicans to blabber 'bout somethin' else afore chattin' 'bout the ol' border!

Arrr, the Biden crew be itchin' to parley wit' the scurvy Republicans 'bout the treacherous border! Yet methinks 'tis only 'cause the captain be lookin' to plunder their coffers fer an entirely different mission. Will the GOP fall fer this trickery, or keep their wits about 'em?
For the past 34 months, the Biden administration has failed to secure the border, causing a humanitarian and security crisis. Instead of taking responsibility, they keep asking Congress for more taxpayer funding to process and release illegal aliens into American communities. In October, President Biden requested $13.6 billion for this purpose, but conservatives in Congress rightly rejected it.Now, the White House suddenly wants to revise border security laws. What changed? It seems their desire for additional funding for Ukraine has taken priority over our own border security. This shows their misplaced priorities and political motivations.
The Biden administration has ignored the record-breaking number of illegal alien encounters at the southern border in recent years, including 1.7 million in 2021, 2.37 million in 2022, and 2.47 million in 2023. Fiscal Year 2024 is on track to break even more records. Despite these failures, they have not reinstated successful policies from the Trump administration and have allowed illegal aliens into American communities through immigration parole.
It is clear that the administration's focus is on funding the war in Ukraine, not securing our own border. Congress should be skeptical of their promises to enforce new laws when they have ignored existing ones. There are already discretionary authorities in place to solve the border crisis, but the Biden administration refuses to use them.
If they were serious about fixing the mess, they would revive the successful Migrant Protection Protocols and renegotiate canceled asylum agreements. The Department of Homeland Security could also restore expedited removal authority. Their lack of action indicates that they are not negotiating in good faith.
Before passing new laws, Congress should demand immediate action using existing authority. If the administration fails to act, it will be clear that they are not serious about solving the border crisis. The American people overwhelmingly oppose their border policies, and real change is needed, not half-measures.
Conservatives should work towards passing proven border security reforms, such as the Secure the Border Act, which includes America First policies and addresses asylum fraud. However, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is refusing to schedule a vote on it. Bold action is needed to secure the border and protect the American people.
