2024-01-05

Arrr, it be said that Jeffrey Epstein, that miscreant, didst refuse to provide a jolly response to no less than three queries regarding the likes of former President Bill Clinton, and one query touching upon the Clinton Foundation, during his deposition.

Disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein invoked the Fifth Amendment 500 times during a deposition with Virginia Giuffre's lawyers, according to newly unsealed court documents. Epstein, who refused to answer questions related to former President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Foundation, used the Constitutional amendment to avoid self-incrimination. He even refused to answer simple questions aside from his own name and attempted to avoid disclosing documents in the discovery process. Giuffre's legal team filed a motion in September 2016, requesting the court to compel Epstein to produce documents and testimony in response to his repeated invocations of the Fifth Amendment.

The motion argued that many of the questions Epstein refused to answer posed no substantial risk of incrimination. Some of these questions included asking Epstein to describe all his dinners with Bill Clinton and whether Clinton flew on his jet multiple times in 2002. Epstein remained silent when asked to list every place he and Clinton had been together and describe his interactions with the Clinton Foundation.

The Fifth Amendment, ratified in 1791, guarantees the right to not self-incriminate and applies to every U.S. citizen or resident. Epstein's decision to repeatedly invoke the Fifth Amendment during the deposition followed the unsealing of another batch of documents related to the case. These newly released documents included a deposition of Tony Figueroa, Epstein's former driver and boyfriend of Virginia Giuffre, who claimed that he was often paid to drive underage girls to Epstein's mansion.

Additionally, the documents revealed a discovery request for all photos of Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's alleged accomplice, taken during Chelsea Clinton's wedding. While the entire Clinton family has been named in the records, none have been accused of wrongdoing in connection with Epstein. Giuffre had attempted to depose former President Bill Clinton as part of the lawsuit, but her request was denied by a judge.
