Arr, ye scallywags! Michigan Tech's sorry excuse for a professor, who be takin' a leave after a fit o' rage aimed at them conservative students, be comin' back to the classroom. Methinks trouble be brewin' once again in them hallowed halls!
A Michigan Tech professor, Dr. Carl Blair, who was placed on leave after his rant about the school's Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) chapter, has returned to the classroom. Blair had called the students in the group "homophobic, dumb, racist twits" during one of his classes, prompting his removal. However, he is now set to teach several classes in the spring semester. YAF released audio that captured Blair's complaints, where he attacked the group for its Freedom Week project of a mock Berlin Wall, calling it "childish" and "stupid." Blair also expressed frustration with faculty members who hoped the students would be censored, as it would allow them to claim victimhood and argue for their freedom of speech. He admitted that YAF was technically right, but criticized their actions as wrong, tacky, and in bad taste. Blair complained that dealing with such controversies wasted his time and called the group members "idiots." The screenshot of an email sent by the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs revealed that Blair would be replaced after the Thanksgiving break due to his rant against the student group. Michigan Tech supports freedom of speech and academic freedom, but expects an environment of respect and acceptance of diverse perspectives. Blair will teach at least four courses in the spring, including one on the Israel-Hamas war. Michigan Tech and Professor Blair did not respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
