The resource materials also include materials asking teachers to explore the conflict between Israel and Palestine and consider how to educate for a just and lasting peace in the region.
Another teaching resource is a video titled "Challenging Antisemitism from a Framework of Collective Liberation." The video description states that the need for educational resources on antisemitism within a framework of collective liberation is crucial, particularly as rising white nationalist violence targets various communities, including Jews, Muslims, Black people, immigrants, trans and queer people.
Local students in the district made headlines when they staged a walk-out in support of Palestine, receiving support from teachers and San Francisco Board of Supervisors member Hillary Ronen. Ronen emphasized the need to view Israelis and Palestinians as cousins and to stop dehumanizing each other.
