Arrr! Avast ye! 'Tis a scurvy knave, an American Airlines swashbuckler, bein' clapped in irons! Methinks he be caught recordin' wee ones in the privy aboard his ship o' the skies, from January 2023 to September 2023. Aye, he be walkin' the plank, he be!
In a shocking and deeply disturbing incident, an American Airlines flight attendant named Estes Carter Thompson III has been arrested for allegedly secretly recording young females using the bathroom on airplanes. The most recent incident occurred on a flight to Boston in September 2023. The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has charged Thompson with attempted sexual exploitation of children and possession of child pornography. He was arrested in Lynchburg, Virginia and will remain in custody until his appearance in court. Thompson is accused of using his position as a flight attendant to prey on and record innocent children, including unaccompanied minors, while they were in a vulnerable state aboard the flights. Acting U.S. Attorney Joshua S. Levy expressed his concern and stated that protecting children is a top priority for their office, promising to aggressively investigate and hold accountable those who victimize children. The DOJ alleges that Thompson attempted to record a 14-year-old female passenger using the lavatory during a flight. He reportedly used red stickers to conceal his iPhone, which he placed beneath the toilet seat. The young girl discovered the stickers and took a picture before leaving the bathroom. Thompson then entered the bathroom himself. The incident was reported to other flight attendants who informed the captain. Upon landing, Thompson was arrested. Law enforcement officials suspect that Thompson may have restored his phone to factory settings prior to his arrest. The DOJ also discovered that Thompson's iCloud account contained multiple instances of recordings of minors using the lavatory, as well as images of a 9-year-old unaccompanied minor and AI-generated pornography. American Airlines has expressed their cooperation with the investigation and emphasized their commitment to the safety and security of their customers and team members. If convicted, Thompson could face significant prison time and fines.
