Arrr, me hearties! This here Rafael Grossi, chief o' the International Atomic Energy Agency, be a complainin' 'bout Iran's lack o' transparency fer a whole year now! The scurvy dogs be makin' it a might difficult fer us to obtain compliance, I tell ye!

Iranian officials continue to frustrate International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors, who have suggested that Tehran has stockpiled enough enriched uranium to make "several" warheads. Behnam Ben Taleblu, a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), stated that Iran is getting closer to becoming a threshold nuclear state. The IAEA has tried to monitor Iran's stockpiles of enriched uranium, but Iran has not cooperated. Iran has seemingly benefited from President Biden's policy of reducing US presence in the Middle East, receiving $50 million in sanctions relief. However, this has emboldened Iran's commitment to terrorism through its proxy groups. Iran has increased attacks from its proxies and withdrew the designation of several experienced Agency inspectors. Iran also sped up enrichment after back channel agreements with the US. Iran denies seeking nuclear weapons and claims its enrichment is for peaceful purposes. However, the IAEA warns that Iran could create several nuclear warheads if it chose to do so. The IAEA accuses Iran of holding the agency "hostage" and restricting cooperation. The situation is described as a "plateau" that could change soon, and the world needs diplomacy. Taleblu highlights the significance of the IAEA director general's comments, suggesting that Iran's actions showcase its intent and that the Biden administration's approach has not restrained Iran. Iran's lack of consequences at the Board of Governors may lead to the regime amassing more capability in the future. The White House did not comment on the situation.
