Yarrr! Two scurvy dogs, a mate and a lass, be caught red-handed in Oklahoma, plunderin' a gargantuan radio mast of near 500 feet, claimin' copper as their booty. Walk the plank they shall!

A man and a woman have been arrested for allegedly stealing copper from an Oklahoma radio station's tower. The tower, which belongs to Payne Media Group's station K95.5, suffered significant damage as a result. The incident occurred on January 15, and the radio station posted a video on Facebook showcasing the destruction caused by the thieves. In the video, the narrator explains how the thieves cut the guy-wire on one leg, causing the top sections of the tower to collapse. The stolen copper, which was cut into 10-foot sections, is estimated to be worth around $100. However, Sheriff Terry Park believes that the damage caused to the tower and building is approximately $500,000.00.

The suspects, identified as Matt Wilson and Candice Logan, were captured by law enforcement. The investigation is still ongoing, and the station, known as KITX, is currently not available over-the-air due to the tower damage. However, it can still be listened to online. The community response to the incident has been described as "humbling" by a station spokesperson.

The tower was constructed in 2017 and served as the first FM station in the region to cover northeast Texas and southeast Oklahoma. The radio station continues to provide updates about the investigation on their Facebook page. Despite the setback, they remain determined to rebuild and are seeking assistance from the community.
