Arrr, me hearties! Biden's border calamity be bringin' trouble not only to the US, but to the wide world as well. Central America would be left in shambles if ye be sendin' those unlawful immigrants back, while China be sniffin' a chance to grab the loot! Aye, a global disaster, arrr!
The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled 5-4 to allow the Biden administration to remove the concertina wire that Texas had erected on the border with Mexico to slow down the influx of immigrants. However, this ruling does not address the merits of the case, so the immigration situation continues. The border crisis began before President Joe Biden took office, with illegal immigrants rushing to the U.S.-Mexico border in anticipation of Biden's promised leniency on border enforcement. Biden had promised not to build any more of Trump's border wall and suggested that asylum seekers should "surge to the border." As a result, the population of illegal aliens in America has increased from 14.5 million in 2020 to 16.8 million in 2023. This year alone, illegal entries into the U.S. are projected to reach 3 million, with about 1 million individuals likely to be released by the Border Patrol. Additionally, there are around 600,000 "got-aways" who evade the Border Patrol, many of whom are criminals and potential terrorists. By the end of Biden's term, the number of illegal immigrants in America is expected to increase by 4 million, a 28% increase. Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has made demands in exchange for slowing down the flow of migrants, including $20 billion in U.S. aid for corrupt Latin American governments, dropping sanctions on Cuba and Venezuela, and authorizing 10 million migrants to work in America. If Biden fails to address the border crisis, a future Republican president is likely to crack down on the border and increase deportations, which would affect the 5.4 million non-Mexican Latin American immigrants living in the U.S. The corruption in these countries drives people to migrate, and without a comprehensive plan, the wave of deportations could have destabilizing effects on the Western Hemisphere. China may exploit this chaos to further its own interests in the Indo-Pacific region. Therefore, Biden's border crisis poses a direct national security threat.
