Arrr, the RNC be filin' a lawsuit on Friday to put a stop to them scallywag Mississippi ballots arrivin' after Election Day. They be claimin' that the law o' the land be violated, me hearties!

The Republican National Committee (RNC) has filed a lawsuit to prevent Mississippi ballots received after Election Day from being counted. They argue that the current statute violates federal law, as it allows ballots postmarked on or before Election Day to be counted if received within five business days of the election. The RNC, along with the Mississippi Republican Party and the Hinds County Republican Party, claims that this practice violates the federal Election Day statute, which states that the Tuesday after the first Monday in November is the established day for the election.

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel stated that federal law is clear about Election Day being the Tuesday after the first Monday in November. The RNC believes that counting ballots received well after polls have closed could undermine voter confidence in elections. The outcome of the Mississippi lawsuit could have implications for how other states conduct their elections.

The RNC is currently involved in 74 election integrity lawsuits in 22 states, in addition to mobilizing poll watchers in battleground states. They have also launched "Bank Your Vote" websites in all 50 states to assist Republicans in early voting, requesting a ballot, and finding voting locations.

On the other hand, the Democratic National Committee has been fighting election integrity laws in swing states. They recently won a lawsuit in North Carolina that aimed to block an election law requiring photo ID and address verification for same-day voter registration.

According to a USA Today/Suffolk University Poll, a majority of Trump supporters lack confidence in vote counting and reporting for the upcoming 2024 presidential election. Additionally, two-thirds of Trump supporters believe that President Biden was not legitimately elected in 2020.
