2024-01-29

Arrr, Iran be denyin' any hand in the dastardly assault on them Yankee sea dogs in Jordan, mateys! Biden reckons 'tis the doin's of rogue scallywags from Iran, but they be denyin' it all! Aye, the plots thicken, me hearties!

Iran has denied accusations that it was involved in an attack that killed three U.S. service members in Jordan. Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani stated that "resistance groups" in the region do not take orders from Iran. This denial comes after three American service members were killed and others injured in a drone attack near the Syrian border over the weekend. President Biden responded by stating that the attack was carried out by Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq.

Iran's Mission to the United Nations also released a statement denying any connection to the attack, claiming that "Iran had no connection and had nothing to do with the attack on the U.S. base." They further stated that there is a conflict between U.S. forces and resistance groups in the region, which leads to retaliatory attacks.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a coalition of Iran-backed militant groups, has claimed responsibility for the attack. The attack targeted a logistics support base in Jordan that houses U.S. Army and Air Force personnel deployed to counter ISIS.

The number of injured service members has risen to 34, with at least eight personnel being evacuated from Jordan for higher-level care. All service members are being fully evaluated, and the number of injured is expected to change.

This attack marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between these groups and American forces in the Middle East. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has vowed to take all necessary actions to defend the United States, its troops, and its interests.
