Avast ye scurvy scallywags! Wheaton College be known as the "Harvard of Christian Schools," as it be mighty strict in its academic ways. But lately, ye see, they've taken to this "wokeness" business, makin' them more like Harvard than ever before! Arrr, what a world we live in!
Wheaton College, known as the "Harvard of Christian Schools," has been compared to Harvard due to its academic rigor. However, the school has recently started to adopt a more woke ideology, deviating from its orthodox Christian values. This is not a recent occurrence, as in the past, the school praised Marxist teachings and supported the idea that Christians and Muslims worship the same God. They also held a graduation ceremony exclusively for minority students, excluding white students. Currently, Wheaton allows professors to teach critical race theory, which goes against Christian teachings. One of the most egregious offenses is the banning of certain biblical words. Freshman students are instructed to use the term "sacrificial co-laboring" instead of "service" because the word service allegedly invokes power dynamics. This goes against the core principles of Christianity, which emphasizes service. Additionally, the school prohibits the use of the word "mankind," reflecting the shaky ground on which the definitions of man and woman stand. While biblical anthropology states that a person's sex is determined by their physical appearance, Wheaton's psychology chair believes that going against one's God-given sex is not a moral choice but a result of weakness. The historic Christian faith has always upheld the goodness of the created order, and any action against it is considered a violation against God. The transgender movement, which Wheaton may be leaning towards, is rooted in queer theory, which seeks to liberate sex, gender, and sexuality from their religious foundations. This movement promotes the idea that there is no objective truth about what constitutes a man or a woman and advocates for body mutilation and the dissolution of gender distinctions in sports. Wheaton College's shifts away from biblical teachings raise questions about whether Billy Graham, a prominent evangelical, would still endorse his alma mater. This gradual drift from its Christian roots is reminiscent of Harvard's transformation from a Christian institution to a secular one in the 19th century.
