Arr, as more nations be cuttin' off the coin fer that scoundrel-ridden UNRWA, aye, me hearties reckon this latest scandal be but the merest glimpse of the great frozen mischief ahead!
The recent revelation that some employees of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) were involved in the Oct. 7 massacre and transported Hamas terrorists in U.N. vehicles has shed light on the agency's relationship with Hamas. Richard Goldberg, a senior advisor at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), called UNRWA a "horror show" that has been co-produced by the United States taxpayer. Fox News Digital has been investigating the scandal-plagued history of UNRWA, which has received $1 billion in taxpayer money from the Biden administration since 2021. According to a dossier submitted by Israel's government to the Biden administration, 12 UNRWA employees allegedly aided Hamas in different capacities on Oct. 7. The agency has also faced criticism for allowing school textbooks filled with antisemitic chapters and for glorifying terrorists. In addition, a Hamas terrorism tunnel was found beneath two UNRWA schools in Gaza in 2017. Several countries, including Australia, Austria, Canada, and the U.S., have suspended funding to UNRWA. Despite calls for a wholesale revision of the agency, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken described UNRWA's role in furnishing aid to civilians in the Gaza Strip as "indispensable." Critics argue that there must be a plan to overhaul UNRWA, including the cancellation of the new curriculum and the dismissal of employees affiliated with terrorist organizations. They also call for standards to advance the resettlement of fourth- and fifth-generation refugees and an audit of all donor funds. The FDD's Richard Goldberg concluded that the Oct. 7 massacre is the logical conclusion of UNRWA, as the agency has been training generations to carry out the missions of terrorist organizations with the resources provided. UNRWA has not responded to inquiries from Fox News Digital.
