Avast ye scallywags! Yon wench, Brianna Lace Workman, be sentenced to a good ten years in the loony bin, for pushin' a wee lad into the train's abyss! Aye, she be guilty, but only 'cause she's crazier than a parrot on rum!

An Oregon woman has been found guilty except for insanity after she was caught on video pushing a 3-year-old child onto train tracks in December 2022, according to prosecutors. Brianna Lace Workman, 33, has been ordered to be placed under the jurisdiction of the Psychiatric Security Review Board (PSRB) for care, custody, and treatment for up to 10 years. The incident occurred at the Gateway Transit Center in Portland, where Workman shoved the child face-first onto the MAX train tracks without any provocation. Surveillance video of the incident shows Workman jumping up from a bench and pushing the child, who was standing in front of her. Thankfully, a bystander was able to rescue the child before a train arrived, but the child suffered a severe headache and a red mark on their forehead from hitting the track.
Workman has been convicted on several charges, including attempted assault in the first degree, assault in the third degree, interfering with public transportation, disorderly conduct in the second degree, and recklessly endangering another person. She will now be transported to the custody of the Oregon State Hospital under the jurisdiction of the PSRB. This case highlights the importance of addressing mental health issues and providing appropriate care and treatment for individuals who may pose a danger to themselves or others. It is a reminder that our society needs to prioritize mental health resources and support to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
This bizarre and disturbing incident serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable and dangerous behavior some individuals may exhibit. Thankfully, the child in this case was not seriously injured, thanks to the quick actions of a bystander. However, it is crucial that we remain vigilant and prioritize the safety of our communities. The guilty verdict, combined with the placement of Workman under the PSRB's jurisdiction, ensures that she will receive the necessary care and treatment for her mental health condition. As we move forward, it is essential to continue advocating for mental health awareness and support, both for the individuals affected and for the overall well-being of society. Let us hope that this incident serves as a wake-up call and prompts a reevaluation of mental health resources and support systems across the country.
