2024-02-02

Arr, North Korean ruler Kim Jong Un didst embark upon a voyage to a naval shipbuilding establishment in Nampho, where he didst beseech the scurvy dogs to hasten their military preparations against the perceived threats from South Korea! Avast ye, mateys!

The North Korean ruler, Kim Jong Un, expressed his desire for the military to intensify "war preparations" during a visit to a shipyard in Nampho, according to state media. This declaration coincided with the country's navy conducting weapons tests, firing cruise missiles into the sea. Kim has been focusing on developing a nuclear-armed navy in recent months to counter perceived threats from South Korea, the U.S., and Japan.

During his inspection of the naval facility, Kim emphasized the significance of the navy in defending the country's maritime sovereignty and escalating war preparations. The warships being constructed in Nampho are part of a five-year military development plan outlined at a ruling party congress earlier this year. However, the specific types of warships being built were not specified.

Kim instructed workers at the shipyard to complete the construction efforts within the designated timeframe of the plan, which extends until 2025. He has previously expressed his ambition for advanced military assets, including nuclear-powered submarines and the capability to launch nuclear missiles from underwater.

South Korea's Unification Ministry spokesperson, Kim Inae, stated that this was the first known instance of the North Korean dictator conducting a military inspection in Nampho. She suggested that North Korea's routine military threats aimed to create a sense of insecurity among South Korean people, undermine trust in their government, attract international attention, and force their demands to be accepted.

Shortly after these comments, North Korea's military launched several projectiles into the western sea. This marked the country's fourth round of cruise missile testing in 2024. The U.S. and South Korean militaries are analyzing the number of projectiles and will provide a detailed assessment of their flights.
