Arr, methinks the lass Governor Kathy Hochul be havin' quite the tongue! As the migrants pounced upon the NYPD, she voiced her stance. But lo and behold, former ICE Director Tom Homan labeled her words as naught but political gibberish! Aye, the sea be full of feisty folk, indeed!

Former Acting ICE Director Tom Homan expressed outrage at Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul's response to migrants' assault on police officers in Times Square. Homan, a New Yorker and former law enforcement officer, criticized Hochul's attempt at "political cover" when she condemned the attack. He emphasized his personal connection to the incident, stating that he pays taxes in New York and was a cop there. Despite Hochul's statement calling for the deportation of the assailants, Homan was not convinced, claiming that her actions speak louder than her words. He also expressed anger over reports that some of the released migrants approached a Catholic church and fabricated stories to obtain bus tickets to California. Homan highlighted the fact that only one of the assailants was held on supervised release, while the others were released without bail. He argued that if Hochul truly cared about deporting violent illegal immigrants, she would have taken action in high-profile rape cases involving migrants. Homan also criticized laws passed under Hochul and her predecessor, Andrew Cuomo, that hinder the capture and punishment of illegal fugitives. Specifically, he mentioned the Green Light Law, which prevents ICE from accessing criminal databases and DMV information. Some lawmakers have called for changes to this law to allow federal authorities access to such data. Homan concluded by stating that cases like the assault on the police officers contribute to law enforcement recruiting shortages and that Hochul is responsible for these problems.
