Arrr, 'tis our duty to be scupperin' the spread of radicalization in our fair land, and lend a hand in safeguardin' America's wee ones who'll be fightin' in the battles to come, mateys!

In the past, veterans in the United States were rewarded with benefits such as free college education under the GI Bills. However, calls for free college today have actually harmed the military rather than helping it. The nation is facing a recruiting crisis, with several branches of the military failing to meet their goals. Policies outside of the military are exacerbating these issues, with promises of free college for all further deterring potential recruits.Traditionally, veterans were rewarded with the Montgomery or post 9/11 GI Bills, which provided them with an all-expenses paid college education. However, the concept of sacrifice has faded in favor of idealistic notions of free benefits. Policies like canceling student debt and making public institutions of higher learning free are causing more harm than good. Moreover, college itself is becoming a less effective incentive for military service. Only 25% of young people in the country meet the standards for military service, and the Pentagon is now competing with universities and the private sector for eligible high school graduates. Many young people prefer trades or starting their own businesses over academia. To address this national security problem, the government should consider passing bills like the Veteran Entrepreneur Act, which teaches veterans business management skills and provides them with capital to start their own businesses. Additionally, efforts should be made to combat wokeism within the military and remind Americans of the honorable path that military service offers.Without change, the military and the nation are at risk. To maintain our position as the leader of the free world, we must shift our strategy and prioritize the safety of the next generation.
