Avast ye! 'Tis told that two fine lasses from Kentucky, seekin' a merry voyage in the Bahamas sans their younglings, were supposedly beset upon by scoundrels, who, after offerin' them grog spiked with devilish potions, did commit the heinous act of sexual assault. Arr!

What was supposed to be a fun vacation turned into a nightmare for two Kentucky moms when they were allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted during a stop in the Bahamas. Lifelong friends Amber Shearer and Dongayla Dobson had stopped on Grand Bahama Island during a Carnival cruise and had cocktails at a resort. They then went to the beach to find seashells for their kids, but after the first drink, they began to feel out of it and eventually lost consciousness. The women claim that members of the resort staff sexually assaulted them while they were unconscious. Toxicology reports later revealed a mix of drugs in their systems.

The Royal Bahama Police Force arrested two men in connection with the alleged assault, but their names were not released. The women's families had to wait anxiously for their return to the United States, where they discovered that a travel advisory had been issued due to high crime rates in the Bahamas. The Department of State warned about spikes in violent crimes, including sexual assaults, on New Providence and Grand Bahama islands.

Shearer and Dobson are now receiving medical care in Kentucky, including HIV prevention. They are seeking justice and want to raise awareness about the dangers of traveling alone or in small groups. They advise others to be cautious and avoid purchasing drinks that are not in sealed containers. The women were unaware of the travel advisory before their trip and want others to be informed and safe.
