Arr, a sly officer from Lima's secret crew o' plainclothes donned the eerie garb of a Valentine's Day bear to entice a scurvy drug peddler, brandishin' a chest o' chocolates as bait. Shiver me timbers, a crafty ploy indeed!
In a humorous turn of events, a Peruvian police officer used a clever trick to catch a suspected drug dealer on Valentine's Day. Donning a fuzzy bear costume, the officer approached the suspect's house with a box of chocolates and a heart-shaped balloon, pretending to be a romantic admirer. The officer even went down on one knee, holding a sign that read "You are my reason to smile." The suspect, seemingly lured by the romantic gesture, came out onto her porch. However, the tables quickly turned for the unsuspecting suspect. Without his bear mask, the officer swiftly placed her in handcuffs, and other anti-drug officers from the city's elite "Green Squadron" arrived to assist with the arrest. Multiple stashes of what appeared to be heroin were found, and the bear, still in costume, even pulled some contraband out of a drainage grate.
The video footage shows at least two female suspects being arrested and loaded into the back of an unmarked police truck, although the specific charges were not immediately available. The Green Squad, a plainclothes unit dedicated to fighting street crimes in Lima, is known for their creative tactics. In a previous operation, one officer disguised as Santa Claus to create a distraction during a drug raid.
This comical incident highlights the ingenuity of the Peruvian police force and their dedication to apprehending criminals. While the suspect may have thought she had found a romantic admirer, she ultimately became the object of a cleverly orchestrated arrest. It serves as a reminder that law enforcement will go to great lengths, and even dress up in bear costumes, to catch those involved in illegal activities.
