Actor Greg Vaughan recently received emergency treatment after a scary experience on vacation in the Rocky Mountains. Known for his role as Eric Brady in "Days of Our Lives," Vaughan shared on Instagram that he was diagnosed with severe altitude sickness. He joked about feeling like he lives in a soap opera, referencing his work on popular soap operas like "The Young and the Restless" and "General Hospital."Vaughan described feeling tired, short of breath, wheezy, congested, and developing a headache after a day in cold snowy conditions. Despite hydrating and taking Nyquil, his symptoms worsened, leading him to seek medical help. At urgent care, he discovered his blood oxygen level was dangerously low at 54%, and his lungs were full of fluids, a condition known as high-altitude pulmonary edema which can be deadly.After receiving IV fluids and oxygen, Vaughan was advised to leave the mountain immediately. Despite wanting his sons to enjoy their last day, he went home with an oxygen tank. He warned others that the Colorado Rockies are no joke and encouraged everyone to appreciate life's moments. Vaughan's humorous yet cautionary tale serves as a reminder of the importance of taking care of oneself in high-altitude environments.
