Avast ye scallywags! First Lady Jill Biden be in a right tizzy when asked by the scurvy dogs at "CBS Mornings" about a poll showin' that scallywag Trump be takin' the lead against her mate in six swing states. Methinks she be ready to hoist the Jolly Roger and give that Trump a run for his pieces of eight! Arrr!
Jill Biden is trying to shrug off some recent not-so-great polling that shows her hubby, President Joe Biden, trailing former President Donald Trump in almost all the battleground states. The first lady got asked about the state of Biden's re-election campaign during a chat on "CBS Mornings" and was grilled about a Wall Street Journal survey that found the Democratic incumbent is lagging behind Trump in six out of seven 2024 swing states. CBS host Tony Dokoupil started asking her about the polling results, but she shut him down real quick, declaring "no, he's not losing."Jill Biden insisted that her man is "coming up" in the battleground states and even suggested he's doing better. She seemed pretty confident that once folks focus in and realize the choices, Joe will definitely win this election. She also made it clear that she's not worried at all about Biden's re-election efforts, saying "no, no, no. I feel that Joe will be re-elected."The Wall Street Journal poll released Tuesday showed Trump leading Biden in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina – all key states for winning the November election. Biden was only tied with Trump in Wisconsin and didn't have any leads in the other battleground states. Reports suggest Biden himself is getting frustrated and anxious about his re-election efforts, even having a bit of a meltdown in a meeting when he found out his poll numbers had dropped in Michigan and Georgia. It seems he's feeling like he's not getting enough credit for his accomplishments and is surrounded by aides trying to prevent any missteps. Some Democrats are also fretting about his age and energy, with Biden reportedly meeting with donors to ease their concerns about the 2024 election.
