This salty sea dog tried to mount coups against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro not once, but twice!The scallywag was sentenced by a U.S. District Judge in Manhattan after pleading guilty to charges of supporting a terrorist group and arming the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, a group known to be a bunch of landlubber terrorists by the U.S.The prosecutors wanted to make the old sea dog walk the plank for 30 years, claiming he took millions of pieces of eight in bribes from cocaine. But the judge only made him spend 21 years and eight months in the brig.The U.S. Attorney be saying that Alcalá and his mates tried to weaponize cocaine and help the FARC scallywags with weapons while tons of drugs were shipped to the United States.The scallywag started his misdeeds in 2006, using his position in the Venezuelan military to support the FARC's distribution of tons of U.S.-bound cocaine. He surrendered in Colombia in 2020 to face charges in New York of a conspiracy to flood the U.S. with cocaine.In an interview, the old sea dog said he has been reflecting on his choices and regrets while staying in shape with a daily five-mile run on the treadmill.
