Arrr, Alec Baldwin's scurvy lawyers be plead'n for their motion to dismiss his charge of involuntary manslaughter in a virtual hearing on the cursed "Rust" movie shooting. Methinks they be walkin' the plank with this one! Aye, may the winds of justice blow in their favor, says I!
Alec Baldwin's legal team recently made their virtual appearance at a hearing to dispute criminal charges against the Hollywood star related to the tragic "Rust" movie set shooting that resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza. Baldwin faced indictment on two counts of involuntary manslaughter and negligent use of a firearm in January. The fatal incident occurred when Baldwin mistakenly fired a gun during a rehearsal, fatally wounding Hutchins. The movie set armorer, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter earlier this year.Baldwin's legal team criticized the prosecution for alleged unethical behavior and claiming crucial evidence was omitted during the grand jury process. They also raised concerns about the FBI mishandling the gun during forensic testing. Prosecutors fired back, accusing Baldwin's team of deceit and manipulation throughout the case. Baldwin's conduct on set was described as erratic and potentially contributing to safety lapses. The trial is set to commence in July, with jury selection beginning on July 9 and expected to conclude by July 19.
