Arrr mateys! Florida fisherman, Owen Prior, didst land a 12-foot tiger shark last weekend wit' the help o' his scurvy dogs. He declared 'twas a record fer him with that type o' shark. Aye, 'twas a right proper haul, if ye ask me!
Owen Prior, an experienced fisherman from Jacksonville Beach, Florida, had a surprising catch last weekend when he reeled in a massive 12-foot tiger shark. Prior, who runs First Coast Surf Fishing, called it his personal best tiger shark, despite having caught hundreds of sharks in the past. The shark took about 25 minutes to reel in, and since tiger sharks are protected in Florida, Prior quickly snapped a photo and released it back into the ocean.Prior and his friends had been waiting for hours when the shark took the bait in the early morning. Despite the shark's size, Prior described tiger sharks as "notoriously lazy" and not as aggressive as they may seem. He considers himself lucky to have caught such a large shark and was able to safely release it back into the water.Although Prior is known for his shark catches, he is now setting his sights on tarpon. He believes the water is "speaking tarpon" to him and is eager for the next fishing adventure. Despite the excitement of the shark catch, Prior is looking forward to the challenges of catching tarpon in the near future.
