Arrr! "How 'It Ends with Us' be makin' landlubbers wise to the stormy seas of childhood abuse, savvy?"
2024-09-07
Arrr, I be ponderin' two queries as a wee lad. One be the very same as the landlubber in "It Ends with Us." But lo and behold, years later I saw I was askin' the wrong riddles, like searchin' fer treasure in a barrel o' seaweed! Har har har!
Arrr matey! Gather 'round as I spins a yarn of a lass who dared to ask her dear mother, "Why didn’t ye flee from that scallywag Kevin?" A villain, not just in his actions but in his words, he was known to lash out like a tempest on the high seas!In her childhood, this brave lass pondered how to make the winds of change blow in her mother’s favor, wonderin’, "How can I stop the storm?" But her ma, bless her heart, replied, "I thought it be the best I could do, fer I feared bein’ all alone." Aye, but she learned the real question be, "What be callin' it when ye grow up seein' domestic violence?"
The answer, me buckos, is Childhood Domestic Violence (CDV)! Aye, many think just bein' a spectator doesn’t count, but nay! It leaves scars deeper than the ocean! As our lass discovered, naming this foul beast be the first step to tame it. Even today, 275 million young hearts face this plight, needin' to know the truth of their battles.
So, if this tale from "It Ends With Us" can shine a light on CDV, mayhap we’ll chart a course for awareness and healing. Remember, ye landlubbers, ye be more than ye know, and yer voice be needed fer those still adrift! Arrr!
