In a bizarre turn of events, a murder suspect from New York has managed to escape from a Pennsylvania jail while awaiting extradition. Michael Burham, accused of killing Kala Hodgkin and carrying out a crime spree across multiple states, was last seen wearing a denim jacket in Warren County, Pennsylvania. Authorities have urged residents to lock their car doors and remain vigilant. Burham was initially arrested in South Carolina on May 22 after police found a note in a stolen car addressed to his father. In the note, he expressed no remorse for his actions but did feel guilty about the children involved. He claimed to have quit drinking and apologized for the problems he caused his family. Jamestown police discovered Hodgkin's lifeless body in her home on May 11, and Burham was already wanted on rape charges at the time. Further evidence against Burham includes a recording from his ex-girlfriend's Ring doorbell camera, which allegedly shows him attempting to break into her house and setting her car on fire. After evading capture, he crossed state lines into Pennsylvania and kidnapped a couple at gunpoint. Fortunately, they were found alive in North Charleston, South Carolina, with Burham identified as their captor. The FBI managed to arrest Burham on May 22, but his recent escape has complicated matters.
