A Kentucky homeowner defended his family against an intruder using a chainsaw by shooting him three times. The incident took place in Stanford, Kentucky, where the homeowner was awakened by the sound of breaking glass. The house had four occupants at the time, including a married couple and two children. The intruder, identified as 44-year-old Richard A. Hamadany, was allegedly trying to break into the house through a glass door with a chainsaw in hand. The homeowner fired four shots at Hamadany, hitting him three times. Fortunately, the chainsaw was not running during the incident and was only used to break the glass. Hamadany was experiencing a psychotic episode and believed he was hearing voices and someone screaming for help. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment before being transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital, where he is in serious but stable condition. Hamadany has been charged with first-degree burglary and four counts of wanton endangerment. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the case. Thankfully, no one else in the house was injured during the incident.
