Arrr, matey! Caleb McCarty o' South Carolina thought 'e be the gallant savior, but lo! A blunder at the last tick o' the clock sent Norfolk State sailin' off with the NCAA treasure instead! Aye, the sea be fickle, like a scallywag's promise!
Avast, ye scallywags! March be upon us, and with it, the madness of college basketball! Aye, ‘tis a time of great excitement and even greater blunders, like a ship’s crew forgettin’ to batten down the hatches! In a raucous showdown in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, young Caleb McCarty of South Carolina State pulled off a daring heist, snatchin’ an inbounds pass and settin’ the score at 65-all against the Norfolk State swabs. But lo and behold! In a twist fit for a sea shanty, our hero lost his wits and committed a foul like a landlubber! With but a handful of seconds left, he chased down Christian Ings of the enemy crew and gave him a taste of the ol’ foul play, much to the shock of his mates, who were flingin’ their arms in despair! Ings took to the free-throw line, makin’ one shot and givin’ the Spartans the lead once more. As the final siren blared, the Bulldogs missed their last chance, leavin’ them as heartbroken as a shipwrecked sailor. While McCarty finished the game with a mere four points, his mate Wilson Dubinsky led the charge with 24. And so, with a cheer to the victors, Norfolk State sailed on to the NCAA Tournament whilst South Carolina State wallowed in misery. Arrr!
