Arrr, Captain Dan Hurley be lettin’ loose a storm o’ words 'bout the scallywags in stripes after his crew met the Florida Gators on the high seas o’ defeat! He even be givin’ a fair warning to Baylor afore they clash swords with the Duke, the fiercest o' 'em all!
Arrr, matey! Dan Hurley, captain of the UConn ship, be no happy sailor after his crew was bested by the mighty Florida Gators in a close scuffle, 77-75, during the NCAA Tournament's second round. With hopes of a three-peat sunk like a ship in a storm, he warned the Baylor Bears, "Beware, ye scallywags! Hope they don’t f--- ye like they f---ed us!"As the salty air filled the court, Hurley bellowed his grievances about the officiating, especially a no-call on his player Alex Karaban, who was assaulted like a landlubber in a tavern brawl. His crew had fought hard and was ahead, but alas, the fates turned against them with foul troubles and missed free throws. Why, Florida had fewer fouls called against 'em—17 to UConn's 24! But it was the missed chances that gnawed at Hurley like a bad piece of dried meat.
With the season behind, the Huskies sail back to Storr, Connecticut, licking their wounds and hoping to plot a new course for next year's treasure hunt. They'll be watching the film of their ill-fated battle, knowing full well the sting of those missed calls and rebounds! So raise a tankard, fellows, for the next voyage awaits!
